What Does "Independent" Advisor Mean?

In our conversations, in our brochures, and on our website, you will see and hear the word "Independent" used quite often. At the Ducoat Financial Group independence is a key reason for the success of our business. As we celebrate our 24th year of business, "independence" has become a bigger factor than ever in our continuing ability to meet our clients' financial goals. What do we mean when we say we are “Independent” advisors and what does it mean for our clients? There are many conflicts of interest inherent to the financial services industry. Conflicts of interest compromise the integrity of service providers and compromise the results of their client’s goals. By being independent we are not subject to the many factors that cause conflicts of interest such as selling proprietary products, we do not use "cookie cutter" portfolios or underwrite stocks we sell to our clients, and we do not have quotas in place for our advisors to meet. Our product is our advice to our clients. Being free of such conflicts and getting compensated by the client on a fee basis allows us to work exclusively from our clients "side of the table". Our stability and performance have allowed us to offer our services free of surrender charges or transfer out fees because we simply don't have a need for them. We work hard to make sure this is the company our clients feel they can trust and be comfortable with for the long term. Our record speaks for itself.Numerous references may be given upon request.Thank you for your time today,Bradley Ducoat Principal

A few Important Things to Consider About us

Track Record. The Ducoat Financial Group has been registered for over 23 years. Bradley Ducoat is a Fiduciary and follows said standards.
Safeguards for your Assets. We are Financial Advisors to you and your account. We are not a holding firm. Your money is held at Schwab Institutional, or various other highly rated institutions. We are a Truly Independent Firm. We represent and work solely for our clients . We do not work for any financial company. This allows us to focus on our client's financial needs free of ulterior motives common in the industry. Being independent allows us to obtain the best and most suitable products for our clients.
Bradley Ducoat is the Sole Owner of the Firm. In addition Bradley is a General Agent for Life Insurance and Annuities and can access any insurance product that is registered.
The Ducoat Name is On The Door. Many other firms have chosen to name themselves generically, (i.e. ABC Investments, American Investment etc). While it could be argued that this strategy is wise should one decide to sell their business, it also makes it possible to change ones name easily should regulatory concerns or bad business practice become associated with that name. Bradley Ducoat decided to assume the risk of using his own name for his business for the purpose of expressing to his clients his sincerity in building an honest and trustworthy operation for 23 plus years. One in which he is always going to be proud to have his name on and one in which he clearly intends to operate for the long term.
We maintain Good Client Relationships. Our philosophy has been that if we provide to our clients good service and competitive returns and safety on their investments then they are going to have no reason to want to leave us. As a result we do not impose severance fees, transfer fees, or any other costs or restrictions on client’s accounts. Our philosophy has worked well for through the years. Our company has grown in each of the last 23 years exclusively through referrals. We do not advertise or list on social media because we have not had to. We offer Comprehensive Planning and Portfolio Wealth Management. Bradley Ducoat is our chief portfolio manager. Susan Ducoat while not an employee or owner of The Ducoat Financial Group is available through her own CPA firm, Susan Ducoat CPA PPLC, for tax related issues both on a consultation basis or full service.
